based upon reactions to a post I made in another thread:
I'm starting this thread to inform folks and hopefully to learn from their responses about
:
11. the numbers of folks who don't have a clue how to determine if a brand of toilet paper is OK to use with a camper's black tank is troubling
does our dealership stock "RV Toilet Paper" (TP) in our store, absolutely .... we do so because you'd be surprised at the numbers of folks who come in and specifically demand it .... that being said, I consider it to being one of the major advertising successes in our industry (another way of saying it is rip offs) ... it is expensive and using it is completely unnecessary .... basically, any TP that is designed for use in a home septic tank system is fine .... going beyond that, there is a test that is easy to do .... take several sheets of the toilet paper your prefer and crumble them up into a ball, put that ball into regular glass of water... leave it over night ... come back the next day and stir it a bit (using your finger is fine

) ... if it starts coming apart, it is perfectly safe to use in your camper ... if it remains in a clump showing no signs of coming apart, don't use it .... Scott's and Northern single ply (as well as many other brands) will pass this test every time
