based upon reactions to a post I made in another thread:
I'm starting this thread to provide folks with some basic information and hopefully to allow me to learn from their responses about
:
9. the numbers of folks who have had campers with black tank flusher that don't know how to use them is beyond me
Robin Williams in the movie RV elevated black tank cleaning/dumping to a whole new level

.... for campers with black tank flushing units, like a No-Fuss-Flush, the process is pretty simple ... 1st, connect a water hose from the campground water source to flusher inlet .... 2nd, open the Black Tank valve ... 3rd, make sure (and I do mean sure) that the Black Tank's contents are flowing through the sewer hose ... the easiest way I know of to do so is through using a clear plastic fitting
4th, only after you are positive that the Black Tank's contents are flowing through the sewer hose, turn on the water to the flusher ..... 5th, monitor the flow (via the clear fitting) until the water flows clear .... 6th, once the water is clear, shut the tank valve and allow water to continue to flow through the flusher into the tank for a minute or two .... this preloads the tank .... if you have gray water available, empty it into the sewer line so has to help flush the line .... 7th, disconnect and store the equipment
where I've seen folks make mistakes is to turn on the water to the flusher prior to making sure the drain valve is open .... pump enough water into a black tank and it is going to go somewhere ... refer back to the movie RV ... I've actually seen a fellow setting up his camper and a neighbor offering to help connected a water line to what he though was a fresh water inlet ... he actually connected it to a black tank flusher .... turned on the water and walked away ... talk about one hell of a mess
