Default Freightliner SportChassis

per request from several folks this thread is being restarted on this forum ... our Freightliner SportChassis model RHA114 .... you'll have to copy and past the link, I can't get it to work?????

the truck now has just over 8,000 miles on it .... fuel mileage continues to improve ... filled twice in the last 1,000+ miles which was probably 60% towing and got 11.5 and 11.7 mpg .... that is about a mile per gallon higher than we would have gotten under similar circumstances with our Chevy 3500 ... only mechanical issue to date revolves around a leak in the compressed air system .... plan to have that corrected once we get home .... with the air bag suspension and air bags under the seats, the ride is remarkable, far superior to that of our former truck .... longest single day tow has been 612 miles which would have been much more physically demanding in our 3500 ... am still learning how to work the Allison 6 speed tranny .... really like the way you can adjust the number of forward gears to match the situation .... also learning how/when to use the two different engine/exhaust brakes ... can honestly say I have never driven a vehicle that has drawn so many folks over who want to look at it and talk about it
