Thumbs up RV Awning Airwedge

After previous experiments with beach balls, plastic jugs and PVC piping to make a system to prevent slide-out awning water pooling, all of which proved ineffective to some extent, I decided to try the RV Awning Airwedge.

I had the opportunity to utilize the Airwedge when it rained for three days during our first camping trip of the year. I would say that it was about 95% effective, eliminating all pooling except for a very small amount at each end of the awning that was unsupported when the Airwedge was installed. Because it was the first time I used it, I may have been a little overly cautious with the level of inflation. Fuller inflation may have eliminated all pooling.

One caution though: be sure that you have an air pump that both inflates and deflates these kinds of devices. Although I inflated the Airwedge with my one-way air pump, it took Sheila and me one-half hour to deflate it with she pinching the air valve and me rolling the device to expell the air.

I am overall satisified with the Airwedge and would recommend it to anyone wanting an anti-pooling device.
