Default Garmin 2610

I use a Garmin 2610 and it acts like it's getting old! Screen seems dim for a while when I turn it on (after a couple of minutes it's back to normal) , now takes quite a while to sync up with satellites, and loses reception in cities and along wooded roads. A couple of years back I'd have to be in a steep walled canyon or tunnel before it would lose reception. Anyone else experiencing problems with older Garmin's?
