I think I know the answer to this but was wondering if anyone else has an idea or two....
I had the local U-Haul install "my" BC and "their" trailer connector last spring on my Suburban and for fifty bucks plus a 10 dollar tip to the mechanic, I think they did a fantastic job....
My problem is: The trailer plug works loose and loses the brake connection (lights too) once in a while, which isn't a really, really big problem unless your going down the back side of the mountain in a rain storm as I did on my first major tow last summer. No problem as the TV had plenty of stopping power in a non-panic braking situation........I reconnected the plug and continued on our merry way without incident...but it keeps recurring...
My take on the problem is since they are non-mating plug and socket (IE different manufacturers) there is not enough friction either in the metal to metal contacts or the inside to outside contact to keep the plugs together.....
It's in storage now and one of my winter projects is to eliminate this from occuring this year....
Your thoughts and observations are most appreciated....
