I know that it's been awhile since my last appearance but since my son moved to Wisconsin to live with his mom, he'll be back in June, and I got a new motorcycle, we've spent much less time in the camper.
We took the Bristol Bay out for a week for X-mas and now I've got a couple of problems that I hope someone can assist with. We just got home yesterday so I haven't really had time to do much troubleshooting, other than fuses, and it's 28 outside right now. A little background. When we pulled the camper out of storage we discovered that we'd had a visitor of the unwelcome sort. A rat, chipmunk, etc. had set up a vacation spot in the basement. I found large holes in the heating duct works. Chewed wiring in the 12 volt furnace wiring, and an entire bag of dog treats gone and an entire bag of dog treat poop left in return. First issue. After a week of camping we packed up and came home and parked in front of the house and proceeded to unload. The bunkhouse slide-out was dead. I turned the power switch on, it lit up normally, and hit the slide-out switch and nothing. No clicking, no indication that I had touched the switch. I checked fuses, they're ok. Main slide and bedroom slide function normally. I'm lost. It slid in fine with no indication of any problems. The ride home was over some pretty rough backroads but nothing that I would have thought would cause any jamming. Should I attempt a manual opening? We did have a couple of events that made me suspect that there may have been more wiring issues as a result of the uninvited guest but this may have been a result of park power fluctuation although I'm not certain of this. Next issue. I don't think that the Winegard system and the coax throughout the camper were wired correctly or maybe I'm expecting too much. I've got the tv in the living room, one in the bunkhouse and one in the master. The only one that receives any signal from the roof antenna is the living room. We've yet to stay at a campground with cable and I haven't hooked up our satellite system since I didn't want to waste my time with that until I can figure out the mess with the tv in general. Any help/suggestions with these issues will be greatly appreciated. I'd like to have these problems worked out before the weekend is over. I can't leave it parked out front too long and storage is not convenient for working on these problems. Thanks in advance. Joe
