Another great weekend with all my friends at the campground. I love this place but it's not the campground that makes it so special it's the people. RV's are the best people to hang out with. Everybody is so open and friendly. Yes, Maverick and I did spend some time together, ok a lot of time together. He lived up to his reputation of over indulging in the adult beverages but I only had ice water. I took care of him and kept him out of trouble. He's my buddy and you got to take care of your buddy's. We did have some female company part of this weekend and enjoyed there company. I know Maverick and he will probably send another post and call me a low down liar and tell you something totally different but Maverick lies. For those of you who have followed this thread, those pictures he posted last week of me that's not me. That's the fat guy from across the road that he hangs out with. He has a warped sense of humor and embarrasses me often. Oh, ask him about his gay lights. I didn't call them that a lady friend did. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day!

To continue providing waste dump station services at Flying J, the company has instituted a $10 fee to customers using this service.
Well yesterday my old McCullough chain saw died. Have been looking for my "last" chain saw. I want one for occasional cutting around a 2 acre yard. Lots of small limbs. Looking to spend around $300 on one. Looking at Stihl, Echo, Husquavera and Poulan.

Have any of ya had any bad luck with these brands? I know Poulan is the old McCullough. I had my last one for 7 years and it worked flawlessly until the clutch locked up and the oil reservoir started leaking. It is not worth repairing per our local greasemonkey shop.

Losing a pet sux

It sux to lose a pet

A week ago Sunday, my daughter’s cat was vomiting white frothy stuff and we took her to the vet Monday morning. X-rays and blood work indicated a large (tennis ball sized) mass behind her stomach. We decided to try and save her with surgery – cost be damned. The vet said the mass was blood and fluid filled and had decaying tissue in it with no idea as to why or how it formed. After the surgery, she stayed in the hospital until Thursday and when we brought her home they said we would have to force feed her a gruel with a syringe 4 times a day. After a few days she seemed much more alert but still wouldn’t eat on her own. Sunday morning we fed her and decided to skip the noon force feeding and put down a plate of wet cat food to see if she would even try to eat. Evening came and she hadn’t eaten or drank anything so we went to the syringe. We noticed she seemed bloated even though she had not eaten or drunk anything. We called the vet who said to take her to the animal ER. They drew some fluid from her abdomen and did an ultrasound. The fluid was septic and the ultrasound showed fluid around the heart. That coupled with her advanced age (16 years old) made us consider putting her down. After talking with her vet and the ER doctor, the decision was made.

I buried her in the backyard that night, right where she liked to sit out in the sun.

Since my daughter moved to Texas, the cat had adopted me and had taken to curling up next to me at night in bed as well as laying on the recliner with me while watching TV.

It just sux.

I'm subscribed to Advance Auto Parts and received an email about a limited time offer....40 bucks off when puchase exceeds 100 dollars....Checked with their site and saw Wagner ThermoQuiet for 60 bucks per axle, then saw Wearever's for 26 bucks per axle...So now the dilemma...55 for the cheapies with 20% off...or 120 for the best with 40 bucks off....44 or 80....while I mulled it over I went back to the Advance site to check for the parking brake pad and lo and behold there was a 30 dollar rebate for the ThermoQuiet's...

Changed them out yesterday with the help of my oldest in about 2 hours (one wheel at a time) and taught him how to do a brake job...Next weekend I'll do the Suburban....

For all you guys that do your own work, it's well worth the time to sign up for the email offers from these types of sites...
