Default Click & Clack don't know towing

I just read Click & Clack's May 24 column. Their columns are usually pretty stupid but this one takes the cake.

The reader worries that leaving a 10,000 trailer connected to a Ford 550 will damage the truck. (Damage to the leaf springs or suspension)

C & C have no idea about proper tongue weight. They say if two big guys can lift the tongue everything is ok. Since the tongue weight should be 1000 to 1500 pounds, I hope they don't tow anything when I'm near them.

Has anyone else seen this column? I sent them an e-mail disagreeing with their conclusions. Car Talk

Here's the column:
The Columbus Dispatch : Car Talk: Heavy, unbalanced trailer could damage parked truck
