the two major manufactures of RV frig'es are Norcold and Dometic .... the drain hose that takes the water when defrosting the frig'es is much different and many folks don't appear to understand some simple procedures that must be used ....
Dometic: pictures 1 and 2 show the drain hose ... on these units the exit point for the drain hose is outside the camper .... thusly, defrosting isn't a major issue Norcold: picture 3 shows that there isn't a drain hose outside the camper picture 4 shows the small drain hose that extends into a container picture 5 another view picture 6 drain hose tip picture 7 shows the drain hose extended outside the camper Notes: for Norcold the drain hose needs to be moved outside the camper during defrosting .... the black tip can be removed to allow for a more rapid flow .... failure to move the hose outside the camper will result in water overflow into the compartment behind the frig (in campers with particleboard this would be a very bad thing) Jim
