All:
We have all probably discussed this before but I just heard something that I am not certain about from a pretty decent repair shop. My repair guy informed me that it was OK to allow the TT to be jacked up high enough to remove a tire by placing the jack under the axle at the leaf spring point. Previously, it was my understanding that I could NEVER place a jack under the axle. This guy has really been good with my work so far and even repairs axles! He said that the load at that point (within 12 inches or less inboard of the springs) would not damage an axle and in fact was less load than the axle endures on bumpy roads? OK...what is the expert advise here? Regards to all, Dave
