Based on an experiment with my wife's car I upgraded the headlight bulbs in my truck to Sylvania Silver Star bulbs (from Walmart).
What a difference over stock! It is not that annoying blueish light. It is a very clean bright light. What you notice is how reflectors (and deer eyes) really pop. Not bright enough that oncoming traffic gets annoyed.
I think they were $38 for the pair. I think they are worth it.
