  • NUVI Battery replacement

    Battery is gone in my NUVI 1490LMT... wonder if anyone has replaced a NUVI battery and can recommend a source...

      Google lists all sorts of options if you put "NUVI 1490LMT battery replace" in the search box...

      Another option is to check prices for a new GPS. If they are cheap enough, it might be worthwhile to just get a new GPS.

        Checked on Amazon and only about $60 more to upgrade to latest nuvi.....

            Nuvi is probably intended to be disposable. At least from my point of view. My NUVI is a few years old and to upgrade the maps would cost me the price of a new unit or more and the new ones come with life time maps I believe.

              That is pretty much the story with so many gadgets these days. With the costs continuing to go down and the improvements to performance/options, it just pays to upgrade to a new model over fixing the old one.
