Looking to purchase a RV GPS device. Probably opening up a can of worms, but which one is the better one? The Garmin 770 looks pretty good.

we use the predecessor to the 770, a Garmin 760 DEZL .... it has done a great job for us .... we went with the DEZL instead of the RV because the RV is setup for motorhomes .... the DEZL is setup for a truck towing a trailer ....

I didn't find out until after we bought it but our DEZL has 3 settings .... regular vehicle, big rig truck & RV .... I think that may be true with the RV model as well .... I believe but can't say for sure, the difference is the amount of software dedicated to each

I never finished this topic, but while in Lubec, Maine, on our summer trip I ordered the Garmin 770LMT-S, and it's been great. Very easy to use.

We had to buy a new GPS this year, and we got the Garmin 770, and we like it well enough. Money was the factor - $75 cheaper than the comparable Rand-McNally. There are things I miss (or like better) about the RMcNally, but since we're not full-timing anymore, money won out.

Speaking of - the one thing I could set on the RMcNally was a speed range, so that we could drive up to 5 mph over the limit without getting a warning. I can't find a setting like that in the Garmin. If you're 1 mph over, the dang thing kept chattering; so I shut it off. If anyone knows how/if a range can be set, I'd like to know about it.

Mine does not talk but rather the speed display just turns red.

You can go into the settings menu and adjust from there if I'm not mistaken.
