  • Verizon new unlimited plan

Verizon just introduced a new unlimited plan. Looking over it I would be able to save $77 each month. In my case I would have 52 gigs of 4g data then unlimited 3g data if I used that. It also includes calling to Canada and Mexico as well as unlimited phone and texting. I currently have a 30 gig plan and I struggle to stay under that each month.

I changed to the Verizon "unlimited" plan yesterday. I had a 16GB plan for one phone that charged for every 1 GB over 16. I paid $90/month before taxes. The new plan is $65/month before taxes. I rarely exceed 16GB. Now I'll have 22GB before I get throttled for $25 less per month.

Was a no brainer for me.

Do you use your phone as a hotspot when traveling?

          My nephew does that.
Not sure how it works, but he set it up for me to get online once down there in Texas.

We use the hotspot occasionally to do banking on the laptop or if my wife's AT&T phone has poor coverage. Doubt the 10GB hotspot limit will affect us..

We currently don't do any streaming. May get an Amazon Fire to play with. We use DishNetwork with a Tailgater for TV.

We are going to look into this when we get home. Our 4g plan is great for when we travel and we never exceed it but we pay more than what I hear the new one costs. We already have unlimited texts and calls but are always looking to save money. It's way past time to upgrade from the iphone 4s.

                I ended up with Cricket.
I bought a used Samsung s5 from a gal around here.
It was locked up with ATT. I took it there and asked them to unlock it but they gave some excuse. So I called a guy in OKC, met him at a truckstop, and he shows up with a laptop and unlocks the phone for $20.00.
Then I went to different phone services to check them out by the month.
Its MY phone now that its unlocked, and I have choices.
Cricket was the last to try, I get unlimited everything, and it always connects.

I can drop the bill another 5 bucks if I let them into my bank account.
                $70.00 for 2 phones.

If you switched, how could it go up 100 bucks?
You would no longer have their service.
