not enough energy for that .... much more on the line of easing into it .... smart phones most certainly have advantages and on the few times when I need one, I use Maureen's ..... as a side note, I still haven't figured out the best way to carry the smart phone .... it doesn't fit in a pants pocket without getting sat on and I already use both front side pockets .... they already carry keys, knives, pocket change, and other odds and ins .... it also doesn't securely fit in a case on my belt without getting in the way

Yep, a common problem for most men and the phones don't get smaller with every new issue.

This article says that the new year won't be the death of 3G... well not exactly. AT&T is shutting down 3G in February 2022.

Verizon previously planned to shut down its 3G CDMA network at the end of this year, but now says it will shutter that network at the end of 2020.

Don't get too attached to the 4G LTE phone either:

"2020 is the year 5G goes mainstream," Qualcomm President Cristiano Amon proclaimed at the start of the conference. He expects more than 200 million 5G smartphones will ship in 2020.Dec 7, 2019"

Obsolete used to mean a number of years but now means much less than a number of years.

Hopefully the 5g signal will be backward compatible with our 4g's.at least for a while and that might be long enough!

well, yet another era ended today .... as noted above Verizon is supposed to end service to 4G flip phones in January so I had no choice but to get a new phone .... well, I now have a brand new, state of the art, 5G flip phone .... .... the new phone is on the right in the first two pictures and the bottom in the third .... its a bit larger than our old phone
