Yes, my wife did over the holidays, I am a retired UPS driver and find it a bit ridiculous, I mean we had issues but nothing like that.

I have been saying for a long time that FedEx is the absolute worst, and their tracking is a joke, i've had packages shipped and get to a certain point, the tracking isn't updated for over 2 full days, I have had shipments delivered to the wrong address numerous times. I have had shipments delivered, severely damaged.
I don't know who does their routing, but it also is ridiculous , Ca to somewhere in Tx, to Md to NC then to Richmond.
I've had packages "Out for delivery" 3 consecutive days, it appears that the local delivery driver gets tired and just takes undelivered packages back to the terminal so someone else can deliver them the next day. They just love to use the latest convenient excuse, COVID, trust me, they've been horrible Long before Covid ever came around.

I have a really seen a drop off in FedEx's service over the last 2-3 years. To the point that I don't consider them much better than the post office at this point...
Their tracking is awful... their consistent delays are brutal... and cost is rarely any cheaper.

I use FedEx to ship for my business and have no issues. The driver who does my pick ups works for a fella in Pipe Creek who owns the local contract and has several local drivers and routes. I use USPS for overseas. Last package I shipped with USPS was supposed to go to France and they sent it to New Zealand. The New Zealand Post Office transfer point in Aukland lost it..

Saw this online the other day... funny and appropriate to the topic.

AMAZON: "We were already inside your house. Check the upstairs hall closet. Third shelf from the top. Back, right corner. May we also suggest several step stool options to help you reach it?"

UPS: "Your package is out for delivery. It's on a truck in your city, with a driver named Mike. It should be to your door by 6:27PM."

FEDEX: "We have a package for you. It's coming. We'll get it there when we get it there. Full tracking information will be updated 24-48 hours after delivery."

USPS: "We have a package? What package?"

Had a FedEx Express package with meds from Wallys delivered; they put it in the bushes up by the road. Missus noticed when she went up to get the trash bins after pickup. It was under the big sign up on the power pole that advises deliveries be taken to my shop on the other end of our U-shaped drive. At least Amazon takes a picture of where they dump stuff. Once they put a parcel in a cactus plant by our water tank and took a pic. Since our property is covered with these same cactus, took awhile to figure that one out. Why not put it on our porch (they drive by) or in our car port (they drive by), etc?????

Up until a year ago Fed Ex, UPS and amazon would drop packages off at 9 am at the post office... Now David gets about 1/2 of the UPS he use to get and the same amount of amazon but rarely anything Fed Ex, b/c they have hired more drivers who are running stuff from personal cars, trucks and vans. UPS did that for christmas and it was a hot mess. Fed Ex isn't handing out their scanners to track packages for those doing contract delivery. So I would guess that's part of the wrinkle.

Amazon is about the only thing we have had consistent luck with ontime and packages actually making it here. Military shopping Navy exchange and Air Force would be a good second. David gets his med's from Fed Ex from the VA, they have delivered temp controlled injection meds wrong 3 times in the last 12 months. And it was just coming from across the bridge.

This just happened last week with FedX. Their tracking showed my package was out for delivery on Wednesday. I’m in a Rv park who get a lot of shipments at the front office. The Fedx driver could be seen driving through the front gate but he didn’t stop at the office and kept going to exit the park. To exit this park you have to stop and wait for a security arm to go up to let you out.

The front office has figured out that when the driver stops at thd exit arm his truck tracking software tells Fedx he attempted to make the delivery.

I saw on the package tracking that the driver entered that the office wasn’t open and a delivery attempt had been made. This happens often enough that the office keeps track of it because a lot of people come in looking for their packages in the time lag before Fedx updates the package tracking.

Sad but true. This means that all the packages that were on that truck have to get driven back to Miami and be redelivered.

yet another maddening experience with FedEx shipping .... back on May 17th I placed an order with a company in San Diego for some parts to upgrade our new smoker/grill .... they delivered the parts that day to FedEx .... 11 days later in the hands of FedEx, the parts have yet to arrive (see printout below) .... along the way the shipper sent a second package and requested FedEx to return the first package .... at that time FedEx could not find the first shipment .... as can be seen in Blue they now say that first package will be delivered to us tomorrow or that in Red it is on its way back to California .... who knows ???

we needed to return a grill to its manufacture and the return label they sent us was for FedEx ... we looked up the nearest place we could take the package and it proved to be 27 miles away .... with our truck, that ain't a cheap trip .... when we got to the address given, we were surprised to find it is a drop box standing on a sidewalk beside a USPS Mail Box .... our package was far too large so we called FedEx where we learned our best bet is to have them come by our campsite on Monday and have them pick it up .... hopefully, this will work

Fed ex is currently moving 3 of our packages round and round this entire week. We had to order a new flat grill. (that comes with a story I'll tell in another post.)
And David wanted to order 2 electric bikes for his birthday so he did research and put the order in about 8 days ago. They shipped both bikes the next day but one went to Illinois the other to Texas. Then both went back to California, Then they both shipped to Tenn. Where they have sat for 3 days.
The grill (coming from Walmart) has a non working tracking number. So we dont know where its at and if its gonna be here in time for our trip on Wed.
