  • my youngest kiddo the movie star

I worked at the American Embassy in New Delhi 1980-83 with my missus and 3 kiddos. Out of the blue one day, my youngest (five at the time) came home and said some strange woman asked her to be in a movie. My daughter was a student at the American International School). That kind of disturbed my wife and I so we found this woman and she was for real... she was doing casting and we recognized her as a fairly main character on Little House On The Prairie. Anyway, my daughter was selected to play the part of a child princess in flash backs where the princess was played by Amy Irving. The movie was the Far Pavilions based on a romance novel by M.M. Kaye. We accompanied our kit when her scenes were shot; mostly in various old castles in Rajastan. We spent about 3 weeks on set and I had a chance to meet and chat with a bunch of famous movie stars. There is a lot of sitting around. My other two daughters were paid to be prop runners on the set. The production aired as a 3 part mini series on HBO then came out as a (long) movie. Saeed Jaffery and Omar Sharif were my two favorites as I spent a lot of time with them as they were mostly in flash back scenes with the 2nd filming unit. My daughter is Kristina Lesho in the credits. We were fed Brit and/or Indian food every day and I much preferred Indian as it is impossible to love boiled meat that the Brits seem to favor.

The Far Pavilions (TV Mini Series 1984) cast and crew credits, including actors, actresses, directors, writers and more.
