  • Carbon Monoxide detector - CHECK IT!!!

Just saw this unfortunate article from this past weekend's NASCAR race...

    FAN DIES AT TALLADEGA CAMPGROUND

Very sad... and potentially could have been avoided.

sad indeed .... in the FYI department, RV carbon monoxide sensors have a life of 5 +/- years .... when they start going off for no reason, that's a sign it would be wise to replace them

I learned this past month that HOME smoke detectors have a lifespan of about 7 years.
Mine started beeping so I replaced the batteries. One day later, they were beeping again.
Thinking I had a bad batch of batteries, I changed them all again.
      Still more beeping.

Finally looked in the owners manual and determined that the manufacturer mandates replacement every 7.5 years. They will beep until you replace them.

$265 later, I have all new ones.

      Food for thought.

          Good Reminder

We always change the batteries on Dan's birthday which is coming up around Thanksgiving. So this is a good reminder not to let that time slip by.

And I might add: "or change your diet" My grandson had a case of diarrhea one night and it went off while he was in the bathroom.

As a reminder they say to replace batteries when you spring forward, & fall back.
And get one that senses smoke several different ways.
              Not just the standard one.
Standard is better than none though.
