we are currently camped just off I-95 near Four Oaks, NC at Raleigh Oaks with our camping club .... it was raining during yesterday's drive here and for several hours after we setup .... this morning dawned clear and with a very comfortable 67 degree temp .... standing water covers many areas in the campground, hopefully most will dry up today ,,,, this is our last outing in our camper prior to pulling out for South Dakota, two weeks from today we should be well on our way .... hit and miss rain showers are called for during the time we project breaking camp and driving home in the morning .... this is a really nice campground for folks traveling north or south on I-95 through NC

our club's first fall campout for 2022 is now underway .... we are setup at the NC State Fairgrounds .... the place is packed ... a big horse show, Southern Home Show and the NC State Wolfpack plays the Texas Tech Red Raiders Saturday evening .... we are looking forward to relaxing weekend

our Tarheel Traveler Camping Club is once again spending a long (Thursday - Sunday) at the NC State Campground === https://campgrounds.rvlife.com/regio...ampground-9022 .... its hot, really hot .... 94 with a heat index of 99 .... last night heavy thunderstorms with hurricane force winds moved through just north of us causing downed trees and power outages ... we got heavy rain and strong lightening/thunder .... the big event for this weekend is the Got To Be NC Festival === https://www.gottobencfestival.com/ .... in addition tonight (Friday) the Carolina Hurricanes have a Stanley Cup match at the arena which is on the Fairgrounds .... with the temp, not many folks out and about .... today is a great test for camper AC's

as this is being typed we are camped with our club for the first time in 2022 .... we are at Raleigh Oaks which just off of I-95 near Four Oaks, NC .... early this week the weather was beautiful but it has gone down hill steadily ..... a thunder storm rumbled through just before daylight .... by mid morning the sky cleared .... from 3 to 4 PM they now show a 95% chance of snow, thankfully with little to no accumulation .... for us this is a test of our camper's systems which haven't been used since Christmas .... thankfully, so far, so good .... we have noticed a marked reduction in the usual Snow Bird migration

our Tarheel Roadrunners camping club will once again camp at Raleigh Oaks this weekend .... this is our last scheduled outing for 2021 .... there is a good chance of rain moving through around dark today .... thankfully, Saturday promises to be beautiful with a high of 72 and only a 25% chance of rain .... anyone passing by on I-95 is more than welcome to stop by

looking forward to spending this weekend with our camping club at Raleigh Oaks .... we are looking forward to Saturday evening when they have booked Cattail Q Catering .... and we all plan to give their BBQ a try

well I spoke too soon in saying all camper systems are on go .... when cleaning the tanks I spotted small leak .... I believe it to be in the tank flusher line .... most likely failed as a result to the extended cold temps for a week in March .... have to get one of our sons to come over and drop the underbelly cover to see exactly what's wrong

its a packing up morning at the NC State Fairgrounds .... its been a good weekend with our camping club .... all camper and truck systems appear to be ready to head for South Dakota but that could change at a moments notice .... extra time will be spent cleaning our camper's holding tanks, the next time we do so may well be in Nebraska City or Estelline, SD .... next up with the camper is a tow over to the welding shop Wednesday morning to have its carrier frame repaired

low key, relaxed day .... following a great breakfast, the ladies spent some time at the large flea market that is open on weekends at the State Fairgrounds .... none of them purchased anything .... our fellows consider that to be a good thing .... we sat under the shade and talked while watching one of the guys finish a handle on his newest sheath knife .... he really does a good job .... sent out for pizza for the evening meal

we are camped at the NC State Fairgrounds with our camping club .... we grilled steaks with all the trimmings so this outing is off to a really good start .... with this being our last outing prior to leaving or South Dakota we hope to test all camper systems .... the weather is really cooperating, had to run the AC's this afternoon and with it supposed to get down to the low 40's tonight, we'll kick in the heat for a while in the morning

we are getting ready to leave home and head for the NC State Fair Grounds .... looking forward to pleasant days and cool nights ....

the Tarheel Travelers are planning to camp at NC State Fair Campgrounds this weekend .... May 14 - 16 .... really looking forward to our bring your own steak meal Saturday night .... .... anyone passing through the area would be more than welcome to join us

well, another club outing ends .... we are home so unpacking begins .... one more outing scheduled for May before we had to South Dakota .... time seems to pass quickly while we are traveling .... the truth of the matter is, it also seems to pass quickly while we are home .
