  • Hot Springs, AR - Treasure Isle RV Campground

We stayed at the Treasure Isle Campground for about a week back in November after we finally were able to leave Camp Camping World. It rained almost every day we were there, which had nothing to do with whether we liked the campground. It just explains why I never got around to taking pictures of the campground.

The couple who owns the campground were very nice the two times we saw them, and they were very accomodating when we got stranded in Little Rock, letting us change our reservations. They didn't seem to be around much though.

It looks like the top part of the campground is mostly for long-term campers. This section of the campground is not level at all. The bottom section down by the lake where we camped has a nice view. The campground is dirt/gravel/grass, so it's messy when it's raining. If you have kids, there isn't really anywhere for them to burn off some energy. We didn't check out the restrooms because we needed a code to get in, and we didn't get it when we checked in. The laundry facilities are older, but clean.

The nice thing is that the campground was only about four or five miles straight down the road from Wal-mart, if that's where you tend to shop, and the trip downtown, and to most other sites in the area, was only about 20 minutes away.

If you plan to camp there, make sure you make the left turn into the campground when you see the signs just after you make the sharp curve in the road. Our GPS was going to take us around the "back way," which is not made for RVs, especially larger ones.

If you don't plan on being around much, it's not a bad campground, but it wasn't great either - just okay.

    Thanks

I plan on trying the Lake Ouachita State Park next time I'm in the area. We previously stayed out of town, at the Crystal Springs COE CG but a number of spots needed major repairs. The federal govt. doesn't have the money for that, starting a downward spiral. The CG has electric at each site.
