  • Farragut State Park, Id.

I'm researching information for a summer trip.

Please share any advice about the terrain between Kallispell Mt. and Farragut State Park in Idaho. My main concern is about the segment on US 2 between Libby and Bonner's Ferry.

Any other information you can share about the park, such as favorite section/campsite or other nearby attractions is appreciated.

    Have a happy New Year!

I checked the route on my Topo software and it looks like you have a fair climb out of Kallispell in the first 20 miles. the first 15 miles you gain about 200 feet and the next 5 you gain 800 feet. From 20 miles on it is mostly downhill for the next 100 miles and then varies from 1800 to around 2300 feet elevation.

From Libby, MT to Bonners Ferry, ID, the road pretty much parallels the railroad and doesn't have any significant grades until you get on US 95 and drop down into Bonners Ferry.

I've never driven that route. However, I don't see anything that would concern me, but I have driven mountain roads my entire life.
