  • Camp A Way .... Lincoln, Ne

we overnighted at Camp A Way CG in Lincoln, Ne for the first time on July 22 - 23, 2010 .... we happened to be here during the National Special Olympics and the place is packed .... we have been told that 2/3 of the campers here are families of competitors .... it was 95 degrees with very high humidity when we arrived so setting up proved to be a most sweaty process .... this park has about every amenity one would expect including a heated outdoor pool, game room, small store, coin operated laundry, indoor hot tub, WIFI, park cable, playground, fire rings .... combination of wooded and open sites .... both back-in and large pull-thru sites .... GoodSam park .... ours is one of their premium sites (70' pull-thru) which offered a clear view of the southern sky and is level enough that we didn't have to unhook that cost just over $40 for the night .... excellent 50 amp service, 80+ psi water pressure, good sewer hookup .... easy access to I-80 .... we would most definitely stay here again if/when we come though the Lincoln, Ne area

Not much else to add, except that if you don't want to hear the traffic noise, don't camp here. We're so used to trains, traffic, etc., that we hardly noticed it, even though our site backed up to the highway.
They do have the most incredible dog park - it's huge! They even have a smaller section fenced off for smaller dogs, or if you just don't want yours running with other dogs.
Prices haven't changed much. I think our daily rate averaged out to be $38 (w weekly rate). There are really not that many bad sites, except a few up by the office. Laundry room is clean. I had to use it while we were there because our washer quit working (much longer story there).

All of the people in the office were really nice too, which helps set the tone for any campground.
