  • NC Seafood Restaurant .... Raleigh, NC

the NC Seafood Restaurant is located at the Raleigh Farmer's Market .... link to pictures and map .... while it has been there for a long time (15 or so years) we ate there for the first time on 6-3-13 .... they do have a broiled menu but they feature a good selection of Calabash style fish and seafood, one of the few places in this part of the country with Crawfish on the menu .... if you are in the area and have a craving for fish/seafood, its worth a try

I'd imagine Crawfish in NC are scarce and expensive.

not much in the way of ambiance, concrete floor, plastic forks/knives/spoons, Styrofoam take out trays, simple tables/chairs, order at the counter and pick up the food when your number is called .... bottom line, good food if you like Calabash style .... by the way, the New England Clam Chowder was very good

          "plastic forks/knives/spoons, Styrofoam take out"

Fine with me, they hold food as good as fine china.
No reason to think that N.C. don't have crawfish.
I've caught therm all the way out to California.

They're all over the place. But catching them in commercial quantities for NC struck me as a little far North making me think they'd be expensive. I know they get shipped all over the place and the cost reflects that.

Me, I live here in the middle of where they "raise" them and I still think they cost too much. And then on the other hand, I spent $40 on 5 lbs for Gayle one night and she consumed them all. Not just the tails, but heads too. Another time we hit the Casino $30 All-You-Can-Eat Buffett and they lost money on her that night. When she eats "Ditch Bugs", she takes it seriously.

If you ever camp in or near Myrtle Beach, Calabash is right over the NC line, just off hwy 17.

Just pick a place and pig out.
