  • Moose Cafe ---- Asheville, NC

those who have been around this forum know that when Norty (norty) picks the restaurant, you need to be dressed at your best (formal attire) and know fully well that the food will be 5 star .... OK, the formal attire was a weeee bit of an overstatement but you can take to the bank that the food will be good .... so when he picked the Moose Cafe in Asheville, we had no reservations whatsoever .... it is located (literally) beside the Asheville Farmer's Market and the food served comes mostly from local farms .... its pure country cooking and it is really good eating .... they have a good size parking lot but aren't set up to handle big rigs .... they have a small Cracker Barrel type store .... its a place we will eat again

Yesterday we had the pleasure of meeting up with Norty, Linda, Jim (JEBar), and Maureen at the Moose Cafe in Asheville for lunch. We not only enjoyed conversing with our tablemates, but the food was delicious homestyle cooking.

Don's wife Bobbi was the photographer also! I'm glad to finally get my V hat back after loaning it to Jebar for 2 years.

I wondered where you all ended up to eat. Looks like you had a good time.

tomorrow Maureen and I are headed back once again to eat at the Moose Cafe .... the main reason for making a 10+ hr round trip drive to Asheville is to visit my Mom at her retirement home .... after the visit we plan to meet a friend from the Henry Rifle Forum for lunch .... not looking forward to the drive but we are looking forward to the food and to meeting a new friend
