  • Creekwood Farms, Waynesville, NC

this is the second time we have stayed at this park and we can highly recommend it .... it is located just south of Exit 20 off of I-40 on Jonathan Creek Road, near Waynesville, NC .. Picture 1 .. there are several other parks within the next mile but this one is our favorite .... the folks who own/run the place are absolutely wonderful to work with .... Picture 2 the sites all fairly level and are made from a good layer of gravel with a patio .... Pictures 3 & 4 it is clear from the park's appearance that they are pouring money back into the park .... Pictures 5 - 8 illustrate the fact that to say that this is a very popular CG would be putting it mildly .... the electrical power is excellent .... the water is very good in both taste and pressure .... the sewer hookups are well laid out and function perfectly .... the atmosphere of this CG is relaxed and friendly .... the only negative I can see comes from the fact that it is so popular .... that being if you have a tough time backing onto a site under crowded circumstances, this might not be the place for you .... great mix of heavily shaded, lightly shaded, and clear view of the southern sky sites .... we paid $28 a night during early July '08 .... we've stayed at $40+ CG's that can't hold a candle to Creekside Farms

Agreed. Great place to stay. Nice folks and helpful. We stay there now and then when in the area visiting relatives. The bathrooms and showers are very clean, spacious, private and well equipped.

      Park

I might be able to drive though a place like that, maybe.

I'm afraid that I might leave a little damage behind though.

It does look like a nice place though.

You got that right. Judging from the photos with all the vehicles parked along the side of the road on both sides, it would be near impossible to back into a site. I hope they are all pull-through sites. It even looks tight to get in/out via a pull-through.

:nope: ... so far as I know there isn't a pull-through in the park .... must say I have been really impressed at how everyone I have seen has been more than willing to move their vehicles so as to give folks as much space as possible ... that said, if folks have a problem backing their camper in tight spaces with numbers of folks looking on ... this ain't the park for you

They may be willing to move the car so one could back in. BUT, if a few of them parked across from your site are not there (walking, visiting, pool, etc), one would not be able to back in with those narrow roads.

                Frustration

If I tried, and seen it was going to be a problem with a lot of onlookers.

First the face would heat up. Then the body.

Once that point is reached just stand clear!
Pity the fool who comes up, and says "all you have to do is...".

Then I would be pulling out never to be seen again.
That is not my idea of camping.

Sorry folks that is just the way it is.

Guess I am more a boondocker than I thought I was.

We never even had to pack it in like that when we lived in california.
Give me some space, with room to breath.

Nope, it just made me relive a past experience that wasn't very comfortable.

“Great setting in the Smokies and the staff is just as great!” made reservation for next year.
