I like reading stories about local eatery institutions. Brings to mind Snappy Lunch up in Mt. Airy, NC and Hot Dog Annie's in Leicester, MA.

    Mini-burgers? Maybe the original slider?
Wish you hadn't brought this up--now, thinking-thinking-thinking--nope, too far north from Crater Lake to Colorado....

Nick's had been in business for a couple of decades by the time she got there .. .. their burgers have been the same throughout the years .... today we'd call them mini burgers .... they are deep fried in a rectangular pan floating in boiling oil .... its been many years since I've seen burgers cooked that way .... they are good

Be careful Jim, you make it sound like M was 7 in 1929...but to find a delicious HB can be a wonderful experience.

Nick's Hamburger Shop ---- Brookings, SD

ate lunch at Nick's in Brookings, SD ....talk about a history, its been in operation at the same location since 1929 .... Maureen first ate there when she was 7 years old and she says the taste of the burgers remains the same .... reasonably priced, limited menu.... inside and outside seating .... very popular with the local folks and students at South Dakota State University
