  • 2" to 2" won't fit

I have no idea why, not yet anyway. I am busy installing a Reese DC with WD but I have to change my hitch bar as well since the old Eazilift one is not compatible with the Reese WD.
For some reason the new hitch bar will not go into the hitch box. They're both 2".
Does anybody know what's going on here?

    Hopefully a Reese DC soon

Have never heard of this before...

If you've can borrow another 2" bar from someone... and that doesn't work - that would isolate the issue to the receiver.

I'm betting the receiver is bent or there is some weld inside of it or something....

I concur that the most likely thing is either the receiver or the ball mount's shaft is bent/warped .... the only other thing I can think of is Reese makes an insert for their 2.5" receiver that narrows it down to 2" .... I don't know if they make one for the 2" that would narrow it down to take a 1" ball mount ... if so, there is an outside chance something like that could be present in the receiver

It doesn't take much rust to jam up a square tube...
Get a can of PB Blaster and a bottle brush and soak it down....:dunno:

You guys have been awesome. I will bare all these things in mind tomorrow when I resume my project.

I would vote for rust. A wire brush and paint scraper may solve the problem.

Does it not go in at all? Or part way and stop? Maybe you have a 2.5" bar designed for the higher capacity receivers?
