    I can't imagine living somewhere that I couldn't go into the back yard and get my own oak, mesquite and pecan. Heck, I may need to go into business with this. I know places that will pay me to remove their mesquite. And then to have someone willing to buy it from me too. Wow.

    based upon Lee's recommendation while we were at the Kona Steakhouse in OK City I tried a glass of Mango Tea .... while his recommendation to go to Kona was an excellent one, the Mango Tea turned out to be at the very least, pewwwww .... spit, spit, spit .....

    Nope, you are not missing anything.
    We just discovered that we did not like Mango Tea at all.
    I don't know who drinks that stuff.
    They should provide a spit can with it.

    I can still see the look on Jims face when he discovered
    he had just been served the same as me. :applause:

    Jalapeno Ranch Beef Wraps

    Here is one that I got from the made in Oklahoma website.
    I haven't tried it yet, but do plan to.
    All Ok. products.


    2008 Grand Prize Winner
    Machelle Hamilton - Weatherford, Oklahoma

    Ingredients
    6 Chef's Requested Bacon Wrapped Beef Steaks
    Daddy Hinkle's Southwest Instant Meat Marinade
    4oz Cream Cheese Softened
    1/2 C Hiland Dairy Sour Cream
    2 tsp dry ranch dressing mix
    1 jalapeno seeded and finely chopped
    6-10 inch jalapeno & cheddar tortillas
    4 oz Braum’s shredded cheddar cheese
    6 lettuce leaves
    1 tomato thinly sliced
    1 avocado thinly sliced
    6 tsp Griffins Jalapeno Mustard
    Directions
    Thaw the Chef's Requested bacon wrapped beef steaks in the refrigerator overnight. Sprinkle steaks with the wet and dry Daddy Hinkle's South West Instant Marinade while grill is preheating.
    Grill or broil for approximately 9 minutes per side at medium high heat or until a meat thermometer reaches 160 degrees. Let meat rest 10 minutes then thinly slice.
    Mix together the cream cheese, Hiland Sour Cream, ranch dressing mix, and the chopped jalapeno.
    Spread mixture evenly over the 6 tortillas. Top with shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, sliced steak, and the Griffins Jalapeno Mustard. Roll up burrito style and cut in half diagonally.
    Makes 6 hearty servings.

    I'm going to have to check and see what wood varieties Cabella's has next time I go to my daughters in TX.

    We had 20 people/coworkers over last night for pool party and cookout. Great time! I'm exhausted today but happy.

    There was a broccoli salad one brought that was incredibly good. I'll be begging the recipe out of her and will post soon.

    I used the smoker tray in the gas grill with mesquit chips for the first time last night and it really made a difference in the flavor. I'll now be experimenting with some of the other types wood chips to see what we like best with what foods.:ready:

    Only had to leave the grill once to walk into the the pool for a cool down. Much more comfy over the grill with wet shirt and trunks.:applause:
