  • Deep Fryer

back in 2013 My (myvann) introduced us to introduced us to some really outstanding deep fried chicken .... shortly thereafter we purchased a Farberware Deep Fryer .... it isn't an appliance that we use very often but when we do, it really does a very good job .... we have family coming over tomorrow night and one of the items on the menu is home fries, we decided to dig out the fryer, dust it off and make sure it still works .... happy to say, it most certainly does ....

We have that same deep fryer. Works excellent. In fact... worked wonderfully to make My's fried chicken just a couple weeks ago!! That recipe has become a family favorite....

sadly, when the plastic handle for the basket broke, I learned something rather unfortunate about our Farberware Deep Fryer .... that being, should you ever need a replacement part, there ain't any available .... Farberware markets it exclusively through Walmart ... the customer service number given on the Farberware website and the literature that comes with Fryer is for Walmart .... all they can/will tell you is to check Walmart web page .... when you do that they bounce you back to the Farberware site .... in short, major runaround offering no help .... my first thought was to wrap the cracked area with Gorilla Brand Duct Tape as can be seen in the pictures .... I then slid a pot holder type sleeve over the handle as can be seen in the last picture .... hopefully, it will work

Might try some of that JB Weld ... regular or the stick stuff. Both would hold up to heat and should set up to fix the handle with no issues.

somewhat to my surprise, the tape reinforced by the slip on pad is holding .... yesterday I fried crinkle fries for over an hour and a half .... if/when I have to do something different, I'll sure keep JB in mind

The family who came for dinner on Monday thought the fries were awesome! My niece said they were the best she had ever had. So far, everything cooked in this appliance has been a hit
