Model 112, 1980. I suppose I'll pass it to a greatgrandson before my time is up. When I asked about the lifetime warranty I was told newer knives were not the same quality. So I reshaped the blade point and still carry it today."As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression. And it is in such twilight that we all must be aware of change in the air - however slight - lest we become unwitting victims of darkness."___Supreme Court Justice William Douglas

after I'd sharpened my first one so many times that the tip no longer was inside the handle when it was closed, I call Buck .... I told them I wanted to send it back but I wanted them to replace the blade, not just send me a new 110 .... they did so and didn't charge me for itJim

I have a model 112 I bought in 1980. About 30 years ago I broke the tip off the blade, so I reshaped the blade with a new point..About 20 years ago I contacted Buck customer service about replacing the knife. The woman told me their new knives weren't made out of the same quality steel and advised me to keep my original knife, but she would warranty mine if I desired. I kept my original 112, which oddly,, doesn't have a fingernail slot in the blade.
