Influenza

I got sick Christmas Eve and today made myself go over to our local Walgreens for Covid and Flu testing .... the Flu test could be processed in the store so it came back within a couple of hours .... Negative for Influenza Type A .... Positive for Influenza Type B .... no clue what's the difference .... its been something under 10 years of since I had the Flu .... it reacted with my Sleep Apnea ... the results of which knocked my heart out of time and eventually a trip to Duke University Hospital for heart surgery .... we will be on the phone first thing in the morning with our family doctor to see what, if any, meds he may want to prescribe .... knowing what I do now, I should have broken down and gone in for testing several days ago

Get better Jim. I have been down with a bad sinus, upper respiratory infection since the day before Christmas. High fever, breathing difficulties. Went to 2 docs and a chest x-ray. Finally got some meds that kicked in. Today.. 1-3 is the best day I have had since. Not Flu or Covid.

oh well, it was bound to happen sooner or later .... I just received notice from Walgreens that in addition to Influenza Type B, I also tested positive for Covid .... as with the Flu I put in a call to our doctor and are once again waiting to see what's next

the good news is, my wife just tested negative

expressions of concern and good wishes are highly appreciated .... thankfully, Maureen is still healthy and I'm definitely on the mend ....

its been 20 days since Christmas Eve when I started feeling sick from what turned out to be Covid and Influenza Type B .... I didn't get tested until Jan 2nd and it wasn't until a few days later that I started taking some pretty strong meds .... today is the first since then that I can say I am feeling much better .... have finished the steroids and no longer need the cough suppressant .... the antibiotics still have a few days to go .... I'm happy to say that the only nagging thing is dull sinus pressure .... hopefully by the time the antibiotics run out the sinus pressure will be gone as well
