  • A Change In Our Way Of Thinking

as a result of dealing with Covid and Influenza for the last couple of weeks, its become very clear that we need to drastically change the way we approach getting sick .... historically, when either of us started feeling "poorly" we'd take some type of old line over the counter medicine and keep going .... luckily, the vast majority of the time that has worked well .... this time it hasn't .... there are some really effective meds out there that, if taken within a very short time after exposure, can pretty much stop Covid and/or Influenza in its tracks .... there are also reasonably priced (often covered by insurance) home test kits that give very quick results .... so, from hence forth if/when either of us gets a feeling like we may be coming down with anything resembling a cold, we plan to use one of these test kits .... should it show positive you can fully believe that we will get in immediate contact with our doctor to call in a prescription

Makes sense to me. Good thinking. If people thought like this than maybe stuff would not be transmitted as much as it is.

our family doctor's practice is affiliated with the University of North Carolina Medical Center .... we just got off of a 7AM virtual office visit with a lady in their Covid division .... we were highly impressed with the way the call was conducted and what we learned .... she has already called in prescriptions for antibiotics, steroids, and something to help with my cough .... hopefully we will be able to pick them up later today .....

The tests are worthless and current data supports that protocol. If you feel sick, stay home, rest and drink plenty of fluids. Upper respiratory viruses like the cold, flu and covid cannot be stopped or controlled by masks and mass lockdowns.

we were told that for both Covid and Influenza that test aren't reliable until three days after contracting the virus .... taking the test before then often yields false negatives
