We both have permits. Texas no longer is "Concealed Carry Permit", now it is called "License to Carry" since open carry is now allowed. Both wife and I are permitted.

Debbie and I both have our Texas CHL's, but she no longer carries.

None of my siblings or hers carry.

We got ours many years ago. We always carry concealed. There was one single event many years ago now that made all the effort and inconvenience worth it.

Had my first encounter with police and concealed carry two weeks ago. Had minor traffic accident in Franklin, TN. I told the officer I had concealed carry. His response, "thank you for telling me, I'm all for concealed carry".

I had the same. Got pulled over for going a tad too fast. In Illinois, we don't have to inform an officer - however I still feel it's a safe practice. He came to the window, with both my hands on the wheel I told him I was a permit holder - and was indeed carrying. I then told him where the gun was located on my person and that I wanted him to know before I made any movements to retrieve my license / registration / etc .... And having the gun make a print that caught his attention. -------- Same experience. Officer said, "Thanks for letting me know, and thanks for the responsibility." ----- Gave me a warning... Then spent a couple minutes chatting gun preferences with me. ----- Give respect = Get respect.

When you see all the stuff coming out about LEO's being anti-gun don't believe it. The street police are pro-gun. It's the politicians in the chiefs chairs that are anti-gun.

                    That's my experience anyway.

Unless you are in Chicago, from what I hear. Chicago PD does not think ANYONE but them should have a gun for any reason.

Well, as a retired Politician Chief, I would have to disagree with you
Just where do you think most Chiefs come from??........the streets...

Yep and to get to the top they have to play the political game and most are so far removed from the streets they couldn't find them.

Did you ever ask your officers on the street what they thought?

Yeah I did, in fact I used to ride with them frequently...so don't put everyone into a nice package to fit your beliefs...
Were you in LE? If not the you have no skin in the game...

21 years Dallas PD, all on the street. My choice, didn't want to leave it.

                              And yours?
