we are camped for the next couple of days north of Detroit in St Clair .... I spend most of the morning just south of our campground at Mag-na-port .... their staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable .... http://magnaport.com/.... color me as being highly impressed and I can highly recommend it as a place to visit if/when you are in this area .... I sent my first rifle (a Remington 700 BDL chambered for 300 WBY Mag) to them back in the early to mid '80's .... out of the box firing it was a brutal experience .... along with going to a top quality recoil bad and adding a Mercury Recoil Suppressor, having it Mag-na-ported turned it into a rifle that has been a pleasure to shoot .... based on our experience, Mag-na-porting provides several very positive factors :
... depending on which process you pick, recoil reduction ranging from an average of 15% with our porting services up to 45% with our Mag-na-brake
... our chronograph tests coupled with those from Mag-na-port that have been conducted over the years. It has been proven, time and again, that Mag-na-porting does not influence velocities to any meaningful extent
... a dramatic reduction in muzzle jump makes it much easier to lock on for subsequent shots
... no increase in muzzle blast or night blindness
