    Remington Outdoor Company Inc, one of the largest U.S. makers of firearms, has reached out to banks and credit investment funds in search of financing that will allow it to file for bankruptcy

    this could be a huge disruption in the industry

    Phew, I got my refund check last month on some 9mm I bought. Now waiting on Federal. Slid in under the wire.

      If done right... they could come out the other side a much better company.
      Or... they could get carved up and sold off in chunks never to be heard from again... until an investor buys the name and starts over.

        They've been in trouble for some time now. Firearms production has suffered Quality Control problems, but nothing like what's gone on in their ammunition production. I'd hate to see them go by the wayside.

          their Marlin division has really had problems with quality and support after the sale

            They should focus on iconic pieces of their lines and get small as fast as they can. Make shotguns and put quality back in charge of business. The only Remington part left on my last 700 rifle is the barrel/action.
