  • Really Big Bear

This came from a 1962 issue of Guns magazine. They do not mention if a howitzer was used to take it..... kind of makes one give a second thought as to going hunting for one

I'd have a severe case of insecurity if coming up on that thing carrying a 30-30

understood .... years ago, I literally shot a black bear that was less than 6" from the muzzle of my Ruger Blackhawk 44 Mag .... the blast literally powder burned him .... that time went well, hope to never have another such experience ....a Polar Bear is a totally different critter .... without being in a very strong above ground stand and our 45-70 full of 405 gr dangerous game loads, I certainly wouldn't want to ever meet one in the wild ....

This last week we just happened to be at the Oconolufkee visitor's center when 2 of these decided to cross the creek. They walked within 50' of us as we watched in
        amazement!
BTW, this is not a really big bear!
