I'm wondering how many folks watch the show Swamp People .... it is on the History Channel on Thursday nights .... it is centered around gator hunting season in the Louisiana swamps .... while I'm sure there is a good bit of drama created for the cameras, those guys sure have a tough way of making a living

OH we get a good laugh out of some of the episodes. I think my fav is the one where the guys hollers over and over.. shoot it shoot it right now shoot it right now. I was waiting for the guy to blow a hole in the side of the boat.

Actually to be honest with you we reenacted one of the episodes just on our last camping trip.

Might have to check into getting it on dvd.

when we were in New Orleans just prior to Katrina we tried gator sausage and lets just say we still prefer pork sausage .... we've never tried gator fixed any other way but know that some folks think highly of it .... those are some dangerous critters and I can well understand the need to keep their population under control .... that said, so long as I was the one with the rifle (and I'd want one that is a much larger caliber than a .22) I'd jump right in a boat and go after them

I've had gator a few times, maybe it just wasn't made right but it tasted like fishy mud to me
JEBar, don't know if you remember a few years ago down around Cape Fear a couple of idiots were bitten by a gator, they claimed it attacked them, come to find out they had been messing with it. We had a gator in the creek in front of our house in NC, was always around when I cleaned the catch from offshore.

Fried chicken is pretty much what fried alligator tastes like.

                            Swamp People's Relatives?

I just took a look out my back door over at the neighbors. Interesting yard decor this afternoon. They have been described (by me) as the ideal location for "American Pickers" to land on. Over the years, this pair has also given us pointers how to improve the looks of my place. I'm not sure this pair would be welcome relatives of the “Swamp People”. Testament to the fact it is definitely Good Friday, right now there is a 5 gallon propane bottle, a burner, a black iron pot, some folding chairs, an ice chest, and a POTTY CHAIR in the front yard! I have obviously missed something this afternoon.
